Sometimes, when words aren't enough, we turn to pictures. When a single picture won't do it justice, let's string a few more together and put it in motion - it's the next best thing to the real thing.

Cruisin'

So far, cruising has been the most hassle-free way to vacation for me. It's been a cinch for me to bring my camera as well. And when there's a Canon 7D, there's video! Roll it! I hope you enjoy this as much as I did reliving it!

No Work, All Play

Since my trip to Kelowna pretty much counted as my summer vacation, I spent the August long weekend in town, at Playland. It was a great day though, and the lines were short and sweet.

And I had my Vado HD of course. Those of you following my blog will know that I have nothing but good things to say about this tiny HD video recorder. With the exception for the Drop Zone, the Revelation, and the log ride, yours truly was rolling hand-held. The shaking can be blamed partly on the rides, partly by fear. :)

Memories of Kelowna

Between Canada Day and Independence Day, I had the pleasure of relaxing at Lake Okanagan with a great group of friends. Although not our original intent, turns out we captured some decent footage too.

All the footage was shot entirely with the Creative Vado HD, and edited in iMovie. Thanks to its go-anywhere size, we pretty much brought it, well, everywhere.

Ten Things

A great couple I know and admire will be going away for a relatively long period of time. So, @claraku and I decided to share with them just how significant they are in our lives. Filming, creating, and editing this project has proven to be a chronic tear-jerker. Even more when sharing. *sniff*

I filmed this with the Canon XH A1 on a Manfrotto tripod. I had @claraku on audio with a Sennheiser wireless mic set. I also had a LitePanel on-camera lighting set to make sure it was bright enough - very important in the evening and indoors. The rest of the B-roll came from various digital camera shots and even cellphone videos. Again, edited in iMovie.
